Denver's mother was the elegant Queen Rose, who married into royalty. His father, King Avery, was the present ruler of Orenda.

Denver's arrival was not without sorrow. His mother struggled to bring him into the world, and died shortly after he arrived, having lost too much blood.

The castle mourned, but they found happiness in the prince's presence, catering to their future ruler.

King Avery was heartbroken, but he could not allow his late wife's death to stop him from being a king. He continued to serve Orenda for years to come, serving as a personal tutor for Denver.

A few weeks after Denver's seventeenth birthday, King Avery fell ill. There was very little they could do for him, as medicine was very primitive in such times. Despite blessings and the constant monitoring, the king passed, leaving only his son and an empty throne behind.

"You let me build an empire,
Only to watch it fall.
Now, it's your turn to be the empire."

Denver struggled to adapt to his new responsibilities. With the dragon threat looming above his people, many sought guidance from their king, and were more than disappointed when they received none. However, Denver, like his father, was a gentle, caring king, and his people never went without the things they needed. At such a young age, he was forced to mature and be the ruler Orenda deserved.

Though he could never be the king his father was, Denver would serve Orenda for years. The kingdom would lose a village or two to the dragon scourge, but to make up for it, Denver would make sure a struggling town flourished. It wasn't fair, but it was the best the king could do at the time.

"The Order dwells inside of the forest.
The wolf eats the rabbit,
And the bear eats the wolf.
And I'm growing tired of being the rabbit."

At the age of twenty five, Denver had everything he could ever want-- except for love. The man had refused to court anyone, and it began to affect his mood. While still an amazing ruler, his personal life was quite dull and lonely. His subjects began to worry for his health, fearing that if he did not find a lady soon, their king would suffer in the future.

Denver convinced himself that he did not need a partner, as he had ruled without complications so far. That was until he met Victoria, of course...

"I didn't need love.
But she was love,
And I needed her."

Many would say that Denver saw Victoria as his other half, the missing piece to the puzzle. From the moment the two were introduced, the king was smitten and was determined to make her his queen. Shortly after their meeting, Denver made his interest clear, and asked for her hand in marriage.

Denver could not have been happier when he made Victoria his own, to love and to cherish. She was perfect to him, and he would occasionally tell his subjects that there was no other woman in the entire kingdom of Orenda that he would rather have fell in love with.

"I am an animal,
And I am savage.
Nothing has changed."

Denver still remembers the night that his life was stolen from him by the curse. He often has nightmares about it, how things could have gone terribly wrong. He fights to keep his anger contained, as he plots his revenge, over and over and over again.

Despite his inner turmoil, he remains the same king in certain aspects. Patient and wise, he clings to his pack, determined to keep them alive. After all, they are all he has left of the past.

Denver has accepted the transformation a little easier than the others, and has better control of the cravings. He also retains a certain optimism, telling himself that one day, they will be able to lift the curse.

Without these thoughts, Denver would lose his mind. The thought of never seeing his soldier's in armor, or to never wear his crown again.. And the comfortable things, such as kissing his beloved's lips..

Life wouldn't seem all that worth it anymore.
